NEW DELHI: Patanjali Ayurveda promoter Baba Ramdev claimed on Wednesday that the group would double its turnover from the existing Rs 10,561 crore within a year. “Within one-two years, Patanjali will be country’s biggest swadeshi brand,” Baba Ramdev said, addressing the media in New Delhi today.

Comparing his products to global brands in the country, the saffron guru said: “In India, FMCG has meant MNCs so far. Patanjali has broke that monopoly. We are not a corporate house. We have good quality, affordable prices, and are ploughing back profits for product innovation.”
He added that global CEOs are “sleeping peacefully” that Patanjali’s share market is small. “But that is not true. We are leaders in categories such as honey and ghee, for example.”
He said Patanjali’s Dant Kanti is now a Rs 940 crore brand with 14% share within toothpastes.
Patanjali plans to create new packaged food verticals and scale up the business in categories such as atta, biscuits, edible oils, rice, ghee, pulses, spices and juices, he said.
